Guwahati, 21 June (HS): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 across its headquarters, divisions, workshops and railway establishments, emphasizing the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and encouraging a healthy, balanced lifestyle among employees and the public.

Yoga sessions were organized at Maligaon headquarters and all five NFR divisions, with enthusiastic participation from railway officials, employees and their family members. NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava led the programme at the Railway Indoor Stadium in Maligaon, while similar events were held under senior officials across the zone.

NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said the theme highlights yoga’s role in improving physical fitness, mental well-being and emotional resilience, while supporting preventive healthcare and healthy ageing. The railway also used social media platforms to spread awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage its adoption as a daily practice.------------
