Int.l Yoga Day; Minister instilled pledge for 'Healthy India'
Yoga has evolved from India's cultural heritage to medium
for world welfare: Sandeep Singh
Lucknow, 21 June (HS): Imbibing the sentiment of 'Yoga:
Karmasu Kaushalam', meaning efficiency in work comes only through yoga, State
Minister of Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh on Sunday
participated in the grand mass yoga programme organised at Ahilyabai Holkar
Stadium in Aligarh on the occasion of 12th International Yoga Day and practised
yoga.
Addressing the thousands of students, teachers, officials,
and members of the public on this occasion, Minister Sandeep Singh said that
under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has evolved from
India's cultural heritage into a powerful medium for world welfare. This
journey, which began with the first International Yoga Day on June 21, 2015,
has now become a global movement.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to building a healthy,
capable, and empowered society by spreading yoga to the masses. The Basic
Education Department has made daily yoga and prayer meetings mandatory in all
council schools in the state, so that children can develop physical and mental
discipline from childhood.
Minister Singh appealed to the gathering to participate in
building a healthy, strong, and developed India by making yoga a part of their
daily routine. Yoga not only provides relief from disease, but also provides
concentration, patience, and positivity, which are the foundation of
efficiency in action.
