The domestic bullion market witnessed a modest upward trend on Saturday, with both gold and silver prices registering gains. Owing to the increase in prices, gold became costlier by Rs 210 to Rs 230 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country, except Chennai. In Chennai, gold prices rose by Rs 310 to Rs 340 per 10 grams. Silver also recorded a notional gain of Rs 100 per kilogram.
Following the day's increase, 24-carat gold was trading between Rs 1,46,080 and Rs 1,48,370 per 10 grams across the country's bullion markets. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was selling in the range of Rs 1,33,900 to Rs 1,36,000 per 10 grams. With the marginal rise in silver prices, the white metal was trading at Rs 2,50,000 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
Despite the day's gains, both gold and silver recorded losses on a weekly basis. During the past week's trading, the price of 24-carat gold declined by as much as Rs 3,000 per 10 grams. Similarly, 22-carat gold fell by up to Rs 2,750 per 10 grams over the week. Silver also ended the week lower despite fluctuations during trading, with its price declining by as much as Rs 10,000 per kilogram on a weekly basis.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,46,230 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,34,050 per 10 grams. In the country's financial capital, Mumbai, 24-carat gold was selling at Rs 1,46,080 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,33,900 per 10 grams. In Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 1,46,130 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,33,950 per 10 grams.
Among other major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai was trading at Rs 1,48,370 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at Rs 1,36,000 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,46,080 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,33,900 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was available at Rs 1,46,130 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,33,950 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was selling at Rs 1,46,230 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,34,050 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 1,46,130 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 1,33,950 per 10 grams. In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,46,230 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at Rs 1,34,050 per 10 grams.
Gold prices also recorded gains in the bullion markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. In the capitals of these states—Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar—24-carat gold was trading at Rs 1,46,080 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at Rs 1,33,900 per 10 grams.
