NEW DELHI, June 2 (H.S.): Ravi Lamichhane, Chairman of Nepal’s ruling National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party–RSP), met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin in New Delhi on Tuesday during his ongoing visit to India.

Lamichhane, who arrived in India on Monday at the invitation of BJP President Nitin Nabin, received a grand welcome upon reaching the BJP headquarters. BJP leaders and party workers greeted him with traditional cultural displays, flower garlands, and a warm reception.

Later, Lamichhane held a meeting with Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters. During the interaction, the BJP president briefed the visiting leader about the party’s organizational structure, administrative framework, and functioning.

According to sources, the discussions focused on strengthening democratic institutions in both countries, sharing political and organizational experiences, enhancing cooperation between political parties, and further deepening Nepal–India relations.

Ravi Lamichhane is currently on a five-day visit to India. Sources indicated that he is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the course of his visit. He is also scheduled to interact with members of the Nepali community residing in India and with party supporters.

As part of his itinerary, Lamichhane is also expected to visit Ayodhya, where he will tour the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and several other sites of religious and cultural significance. His visit is being viewed as an important step toward strengthening political dialogue and people-to-people ties between India and Nepal.
