New Delhi, 02 June (H.S.): External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile, Deputy President of South Africa, on Tuesday. During the visit, a high-level meeting was held in New Delhi between the South African delegation and the Indian side, where a wide range of areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed in detail.

During the meeting, the two leaders deliberated on opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), digital infrastructure, and the broader strategic partnership between the two countries.

The External Affairs Minister highlighted the long-standing and friendly relations between India and South Africa and appreciated South Africa’s strong commitment to deepening the partnership. He noted that both nations possess significant potential for expanding collaboration in trade, investment, digital technologies, and infrastructure development.

The discussions also emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between India and South Africa on global and multilateral platforms. Both sides agreed to work more closely in addressing shared international challenges and advancing common interests in various international forums.

The meeting is being viewed as an important step toward providing fresh momentum to the strategic relationship between India and South Africa and further strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
