Kolkata, 19 June (H.S.): In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Tarakeswar on June 20, Eastern Railway has announced the operation of seven special EMU trains to facilitate the movement of passengers. The decision has been taken anticipating a large turnout at the West Bengal Day programme scheduled to be held in Tarakeswar.

According to Eastern Railway, the special train services will operate on the Howrah–Sheoraphuli–Tarakeswar–Goghat section under the Howrah Division. Railway officials believe that the additional services will help manage the expected passenger rush and provide convenient transportation for people travelling to the event.

As per the schedule, Train No. 03063 Howrah–Tarakeswar EMU Special will depart from Howrah at 7:45 a.m. and arrive at Tarakeswar at 9:12 a.m. Train No. 03066 Tarakeswar–Sheoraphuli EMU Special will leave Tarakeswar at 9:45 a.m. and reach Sheoraphuli at 10:35 a.m. Train No. 03065 Sheoraphuli–Tarakeswar EMU Special will depart from Sheoraphuli at 10:48 a.m. and arrive at Tarakeswar at 11:45 a.m.

In addition, Train No. 03067 Tarakeswar–Arambagh EMU Special will leave Tarakeswar at 7:20 a.m. and reach Arambagh at 8:00 a.m., while Train No. 03068 Arambagh–Tarakeswar EMU Special will depart from Arambagh at 8:07 a.m. and arrive at Tarakeswar at 8:39 a.m.

Eastern Railway has also arranged two special trains on the Goghat section. Train No. 03069 Tarakeswar–Goghat EMU Special will depart Tarakeswar at 10:21 a.m. and reach Goghat at 11:08 a.m. Train No. 03070 Goghat–Tarakeswar EMU Special will leave Goghat at 11:20 a.m. and arrive at Tarakeswar at 12:10 p.m.

Railway authorities have clarified that all the special trains will halt at every station along their respective routes, enabling local commuters to benefit from the additional services.

In another significant move, Eastern Railway has extended the route of Train No. 37361 Howrah–Arambagh EMU Local up to Goghat for one day. The train will originate from Goghat at 12:20 p.m. and will run up to Howrah as Train No. 37362 according to its scheduled timings.

Railway officials said the operation of these special services is expected to ease pressure on road transport during the programme and provide passengers with a safe, convenient and efficient travel option.
