New Delhi, 18 June (H.S.): Vice President and Chancellor of the University of Delhi C.P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday lauded the significant progress made by the University under its Drug-Free Campus Campaign.
In a post on X, the Vice President recalled the launch of the Drug-Free Campus Campaign and the e-Pledge platform at the University earlier this year. He urged students to become ambassadors of a drug-free India and take a firm stand against the menace of substance abuse.
Appreciating the University's efforts in advancing the objectives of the campaign, Radhakrishnan said that more than 53,000 students had taken the mandatory pledge through a collective initiative. He noted that such efforts make a meaningful contribution towards building a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous nation.
The Vice President also appealed to universities and educational institutions across the country to join the campaign and encourage their students to participate actively. He stressed that collective action and sustained awareness among the youth are essential to achieving the vision of a drug-free India.
He called upon everyone to resolve to stay away from narcotic substances under the Drug-Free India Campaign and inspire others to do the same. He further urged citizens to remain vigilant against drug abuse, help friends overcome addiction, and set an example by raising their voice against the misuse of narcotic substances.
Notably, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan launched the Drug-Free Campus Campaign at the University of Delhi on January 13. On the occasion, he also inaugurated the e-Pledge platform and a dedicated mobile application to promote the anti-drug initiative.
