
Lucknow, 18 June (HS): Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of
Uttar Pradesh, has sincerely admired and cherished the legacy of the late
Milkha Singh, the renowned Indian sprinter. He has often lauded the 'Flying
Sikh' as an enduring source of pride and inspiration for all Indians.
When the track hero died, CM Yogi expressed tremendous sadness, noting that his
huge accomplishments and services to athletics will always make the nation
proud. He stated that his death marked the conclusion of an illustrious chapter
in the world of athletics. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has often honored
the athlete's legacy in public, stating that his life's path from a terrible
upbringing to worldwide track domination serves as a tremendous example for
young people and sports aficionados across the country.
In a post on X, he stated, “On the death anniversary of the
unparalleled pride of Indian sports, the epitome of discipline and
extraordinary speed, the 'Flying Sikh', 'Padma Shri' Milkha Singh, a humble
tribute. Your unwavering dedication and tireless hard work towards your goal
will forever remain an inspiration and a model worthy of emulation for the
youth.”
