
Bhubaneswar, 17 June (H.S.): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday took serious note of the errors detected in state government school textbooks and directed immediate corrective measures to address the issue.
A high-level review meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. The meeting was attended virtually by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior officials from various departments.
Expressing concern over the inaccuracies found in the textbooks, the Chief Minister directed the authorities to take prompt steps to rectify the mistakes. He also ordered the constitution of a three-member high-level committee headed by the Development Commissioner to investigate the matter and identify the officials or institutions responsible for the lapses.
The committee has been asked to submit its report within seven days. Based on its findings, stringent action will be taken against the officials or agencies found accountable for the errors, the Chief Minister said.
The state government has reiterated its commitment to maintaining quality and accuracy in educational materials and ensuring that such lapses do not recur in the future.
