Lucknow, 17 June (HS): Om Prakash Rajbhar, Uttar Pradesh
Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president, stated on
Wednesday that the Samajwadi Party (SP) was on the verge of a major split,
stating that numerous opposition party leaders were willing to join the
Bharatiya Janata Party. Rajbhar made statements in a post on X and subsequently
expanded on his charges when speaking with reporters, implying that political
developments in Uttar Pradesh might soon overshadow the chaos now raging in
other opposition groups. Rajbhar's statements come at a time when political
attention is focused on happenings in Maharashtra, where the Shiv Sena (UBT) is
experiencing uncertainty following speculations that some of its Lok Sabha MPs
may defect to the ruling Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde.
Drawing parallels with the political turmoil in Maharashtra,
he proposed that the attention be shifted to Uttar Pradesh, stating that
important events were taking place within the Samajwadi Party. Rajbhar claimed in a post on X that SP leader
Ram Gopal Yadav had written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, but he provided
no information or evidence of the supposed correspondence. A huge rift will
occur in the Samajwadi Party. Rajbhar said that Ram Gopal Yadav sent a letter
to Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji. He further related his statements to
various corruption cases involving the Samajwadi Party, implying that pressure
from ongoing investigations had made the party nervous. Everyone in Uttar
Pradesh knows who is the brains behind the mining and Gomti River Front scams. SP
leaders are expressing anxiety as the noose tightened.
Rajbhar went on to say that Samajwadi Party defections were
on the horizon. Forget Maharashtra and Bengal; the entire SP is sitting
ready to join the BJP, he continued. Referring to ongoing political
discussions in Maharashtra, Rajbhar stated, People will buy someone only
when they are ready. Don't focus just on Maharashtra; the number now belongs to
Uttar Pradesh.” Speaking again about the supposed letter, Rajbhar said that Ram
Gopal Yadav had addressed the Union Home Minister about certain party leaders. Didn't
you notice Ram Gopal gave Amit Shah a note in which he instructed him that
these are names; call them and take them with you, but keep us secure. Ram
Gopal ji should explain what he written in his letter, Rajbhar stated.
The Uttar Pradesh minister also pointed to previous issues
involving the Samajwadi Party and questioned the results of investigations into
them. The CBI has identified Akhilesh ji in a mining-related case. Was anyone
jailed in the Gomti Riverfront case? he inquired.
