New Delhi, June 17 (HS): Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will launch the Congress party's nationwide Chhatron Ki Goonj campaign from Kota in Rajasthan on Wednesday, focusing on examination paper leaks, recruitment irregularities, unemployment and other issues affecting the country's youth.
Gandhi is scheduled to interact with students and aspirants preparing for competitive examinations during the programme, which marks the beginning of a nationwide outreach campaign aimed at highlighting concerns related to education and employment.
Announcing the initiative, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal said the campaign would bring together students, competitive examination aspirants, educators and youth organisations from across the country.
According to the party, the first phase of the campaign will begin in Kota and continue with programmes in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11 and Delhi on July 14.
The Congress has alleged that recurring examination paper leaks, recruitment irregularities, cancelled tests and rising unemployment are adversely affecting the future of millions of young Indians. Through the campaign, the party aims to raise these issues at the national level and mobilise support among students and job aspirants.
Ahead of the launch, Gandhi appealed to students affected by examination controversies and delayed recruitment processes to participate in the movement and raise their concerns.
Congress leaders said Kota was chosen as the starting point of the campaign because of its prominence as one of India's largest coaching and educational hubs.
