Prayagraj, 17 June (HS): Under the aegis of Headquarters
Madhya Bharat Area, a significant stride towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, 508 Army
Base Workshop at Cheokki has successfully rolled out the first overhauled 8x8
Euro Vehicle, marking a major milestone in strengthening the Indian Army’s
indigenous maintenance capabilities. This landmark achievement highlights the
growing technical prowess, innovation, and dedication of the Corps of
Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) in sustaining complex and critical
military platforms. The successful overhaul underscores the Army’s commitment
to enhancing operational readiness through self-reliant and indigenised
solutions.
The initiative not only reduces dependence on external
support but also reinforces the capability of in-house military infrastructure
to undertake advanced maintenance and life-extension of sophisticated
equipment. This milestone further strengthens the Indian Army’s resolve to
continue advancing indigenous capabilities in defence maintenance and
sustainment, informed Pro & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Prayagraj.
