Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for congratulating him on becoming the longest-serving consecutively elected Prime Minister in India's history. Modi reiterated India's commitment to further strengthening its friendly relations and strategic cooperation with Serbia.
Responding on Sunday to President Vučić’s message on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi said he deeply appreciated the Serbian leader’s warm wishes. He also recalled Vučić’s recent visit to India and the meaningful and productive discussions held between the two leaders.
The Prime Minister noted that India and Serbia share a relationship built on a strong foundation of mutual trust, respect and cooperation. He emphasized that New Delhi places great importance on its partnership with Belgrade and remains committed to expanding collaboration across a wide range of sectors.
Modi stated that India looks forward to working closely with Serbia in the coming years to elevate bilateral relations to new heights and further strengthen cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Earlier, President Vučić had congratulated PM Modi on achieving the distinction of becoming the longest-serving consecutively elected Prime Minister of India. He described the milestone as a reflection of the deep trust, confidence and support that the Indian people have placed in Modi’s leadership.
The Serbian President praised PM Modi as a visionary and experienced statesman whose voice is heard with respect on the global stage. He also commended India’s continued progress and development under Modi’s leadership and conveyed his wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued success.
Referring to their recent meeting, Vučić said the discussions were marked by mutual respect, trust and understanding. He described Modi as an influential leader with a deep understanding of contemporary global challenges and national interests, expressing confidence that India would further strengthen its role in international affairs under his leadership.
