
Guwahati, 14 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced plans for two major express corridors aimed at improving road connectivity across the state.
Speaking to journalists, the Chief Minister said that a new express corridor will soon be developed connecting Silchar with Siliguri, providing faster and more efficient transportation between the Barak Valley and North Bengal.
He further stated that another express corridor is proposed from Guwahati to Tinsukia via Sonari in Charaideo district. The project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and strengthen connectivity in Upper Assam.
Dr. Sarma said these infrastructure initiatives form part of the state government's broader vision to modernize transportation networks and accelerate economic development across Assam. Further details regarding the projects are expected to be announced in due course.------------
