
Firozabad, 12 June (HS): Stones were thrown at the Lucknow
Shatabdi Express near Firozabad railway station late Thursday evening. RSS
chief Mohan Bhagwat was also traveling on the train. Police searched the area
around the incident site until late at night. The police are investigating the
matter.
There have been reports of stones being thrown at the
Shatabdi Express, a high-speed train traveling from Lucknow to Delhi.
Unidentified miscreants targeted the train near the Pameshwar Gate between
Makhanpur and Firozabad railway stations late Thursday evening. The incident
sent shockwaves through the railway administration and security agencies. RSS
chief Mohan Bhagwat was also aboard the train. He was traveling to Delhi by the
Lucknow Shatabdi Express after attending a function in Kanpur. However, the RSS
chief remained unharmed and uninjured. Upon arrival at Tundla station, RPF
Inspector Awadhesh Goswami and his team inspected the coach. The investigation
confirmed that only the outer glass was broken and all passengers were safe. Following
the incident, senior police officers, the LIU, and other agencies have begun
investigating the incident, examining CCTV footage at the scene.
According to railway officials, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was
travelling in coach E1, occupying seats number 39 and 40. The stone struck the
outer glass, causing no injuries to any passengers.
In this regard, Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya
Langhe said that an incident of stone pelting on a train has been reported.
Seven police teams have been formed to investigate the matter. CCTV footage has
been reviewed. Senior officials are also investigating the incident. All
passengers are safe; only a glass window was broken by a stone. The incident
will be investigated and anyone found guilty will be arrested.
