
Kolkata, 12 June (H.S.): In a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and law enforcement across the district, the West Midnapore Police has transferred several officers-in-charge (OCs) and police outpost heads with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, changes have been made across multiple police stations and police posts in the district. A total of 10 police officers have been reassigned and directed to join their new postings within the stipulated deadline.
One of the most notable changes has been made at Ghatal Police Station, where Sub-Inspector Timir Let, who was serving at Narayangarh Police Station, has been appointed as the new Officer-in-Charge. Let had earlier served as the in-charge of Kharar Police Outpost during the election period and has now been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the strategically important Ghatal Police Station.
Under the transfer order, Parimal Kumbhakar has been shifted from his position as In-Charge of Pirakata Police Post and appointed as the head of Kalaikunda Beat House. Sanjay Hazra has been transferred from Kalaikunda Beat House and posted as the Officer-in-Charge of Anandapur Police Station.
Gobardhan Sahu has been moved from Anandapur Police Station to take charge as the Officer-in-Charge of Narayangarh Police Station. Mrinal Kanti Sikdar, who was serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Ghatal Police Station, has been transferred to Daspur Traffic Guard.
Shubhankar Roy has been shifted from Sabang Police Station and appointed as the Officer-in-Charge of Garbeta Police Station. Chinmoy Pramanik has been transferred from Garbeta Police Station and posted as the Officer-in-Charge of Kharagpur Local Police Station.
Soumendu Bera has been moved from Jorageria Police Outpost and appointed as the Officer-in-Charge of Sabang Police Station. Subhas Chakraborty, in turn, has been transferred from Sabang Police Station and posted as the in-charge of Jorageria Police Outpost.
Sudarshan Jana has been shifted from Keshpur Police Station and appointed as the in-charge of Pirakata Police Outpost.
The order specifies that all transferred officers must assume charge of their new assignments by June 12, 2026. Police officials said the reshuffle is part of an ongoing effort to enhance administrative effectiveness and improve policing across the district.
