Kamrup (Assam), 12 June (HS): In a major crackdown against narcotics, Hajo and Kamrup Police carried out an extensive anti-drug operation in the Simlutola area of Hajo under the leadership of DSP Deepak Sharma, police informed on Friday.

Acting on specific inputs, the police team, assisted by a sniffer dog squad, launched a search operation targeting suspected drug trafficking activities in the locality. During the raid, a substantial quantity of heroin and cannabis (ganja) was seized.

Police also recovered a large amount of cash believed to be linked to the illegal narcotics trade. The seized contraband and cash have been taken into custody for further investigation.

Three persons allegedly connected to the drug racket were arrested during the operation. Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the network and identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade.---------
