
New Delhi, 12 June (H.S.): Gold prices continued their downward trajectory in the domestic bullion market during early trading on Friday, registering a sharp decline for the second consecutive day. Owing to the weakness in prices, gold became cheaper by ₹2,950 to ₹3,220 per 10 grams across most bullion markets in the country, excluding Chennai. In Chennai, gold prices fell even more sharply, declining by ₹3,000 to ₹3,270 per 10 grams. In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged.
Following the decline, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹145,630 and ₹147,270 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹133,490 to ₹134,990 per 10 grams. As silver prices remained steady, the precious metal continued to trade at ₹249,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In Delhi, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,780 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹133,640 per 10 grams. In the country's financial capital, Mumbai, 24-carat gold was selling at ₹145,630 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was available at ₹133,490 per 10 grams. Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹145,680 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹133,540 per 10 grams.
Among other major cities, 24-carat gold in Chennai was trading at ₹147,270 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹134,990 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹145,630 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,490 per 10 grams. In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was available at ₹145,680 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹133,540 per 10 grams.
In Jaipur, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,780 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹133,640 per 10 grams. In Patna, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹145,680 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was selling at ₹133,540 per 10 grams. Like other parts of the country, bullion markets in Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha also recorded weakness in gold prices. In the capitals of these states—Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar—24-carat gold was trading at ₹145,630 per 10 grams. Likewise, 22-carat gold was being sold at ₹133,490 per 10 grams in all three cities.
Despite the steep decline in gold prices, silver remained stable across major domestic bullion markets, indicating a divergence in the performance of the two precious metals during the day's trading session.
