Dhubri (Assam), June 12 (HS): Assam Cabinet Minister and guardian minister of Dhubri district Ashok Singhal on Friday visited the India-Bangladesh international border areas in Dhubri district and reviewed the overall situation in the frontier region. During the two days visit, the district’s guardian minister interacted with residents of Bhogdanga village and took stock of issues affecting people living along the border.

Addressing the local population, Singhal assured that members of the Sanatani Hindu community in Dhubri need not fear and said the government would take all necessary steps to safeguard their interests. He also issued a stern warning against those allegedly involved in illegal activities, asking them to stop such practices within 15 days or be prepared to face legal action.

The minister further assured residents of resolving long-pending problems faced by people in villages located near the international border. He said the concerns of the border population would be brought to the notice of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for necessary intervention.

Later, Singhal held a meeting with senior officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) to discuss issues related to border management and local concerns. He reiterated the government's commitment to addressing the grievances of Bhogdanga residents and improving conditions in the border areas.---------
