
Firozabad, 12 June (HS): The Rasulpur police station in
Firozabad district, Uttar Pradesh, detained two minors who threw stones at the
Swarn Shatabdi Express train on Friday. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief
Mohan Bhagwat was also traveling on the same train. However, no one was injured
in the incident.
According to railway officials, Train No. 12003, the
Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, was pelted with stones on June 11th at
around 7:18 pm as it approached Firozabad station under the Prayagraj division.
The Railway Protection Force and relevant authorities launched an
investigation. Based on CCTV footage from the station and surrounding areas,
the suspects were identified, leading to theie arrests.
On Thursday evening, some miscreants targeted the
Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express near the Paimeshwar Gate between Makhanpur
and Firozabad railway stations. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was also traveling on
the same train at the time of the incident. However, neither he nor any other
passenger was injured in the incident.
Upon arrival at Tundla station, an RPF team inspected the
coach and found only the exterior glass damaged. Following the incident,
police, the LIU, and other security agencies arrived at the scene and launched
an investigation. Railway officials stated that strict action will continue
against those who compromise passenger safety.
Whereas, Firozabad Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya
Langhe said that on June 11, the Railway Inspector-in-Charge reported that
train number 12003 Swarn Shatabdi Express was passing near pillar number
1230/05 of the Pemeswar Gate between Makhanpur and Firozabad railway stations
when an unknown person threw a stone at the train, shattering a window pane.
Upon receiving information about this incident, a case was immediately
registered at the Rasulpur police station under the Railway Act.
SSP told that he inspected the spot along with Additional
Director General of Police Agra Zone, Deputy Inspector General of Police Agra
Range and local police team. A total of 10 police teams including Rasulpur,
South, Linepar police station and SOG, Surveillance were formed to solve the
case. The formed police team observed the CCTV cameras installed nearby. More
than 50 CCTV footages were continuously watched by the police teams. In which
it was revealed that three juvenile delinquents, who were picking garbage on
the railway track, picked up a stone from near the track and threw it at the
Swarn Shatabdi Express train. Due to which the glass of the train window was
broken.
He said the names of three minors have come to light in this
incident. The police team arrested two children on Friday. They have been taken into custody and the
search for the third is ongoing.
