Amravati. 11 June (HS): Insects were fund in the

groundnut chikki provided through Anganwadi to remove malnutrition. The

incident was reported from Anganwadi at Pathrot Ward No. 6 of Khodgaon Rasta in

Amravati district. The scheme is being implemented for eliminating

malnourishment across the nation. The stock of the nutrition supplement was

received for three months. A girl students found insects upon opening the

carton.

The scheme is implemented under Women and Child

Development Department. The Anganwadi chief and Women and Child Development

Officer at Acahlpur were informed about the incident.

The villagers have raised questions about the

supplier of nutritious diet and the authorities implementing the scheme.

Enquiry and stern action have been demanded by the villagers for supplying
