07 May (HS): BJP candidate Sachin Mishra has won the by-election for the post
of councillor in Ward 48 Alopibagh of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation. Sachin
Mishra got 1093 votes out of the total 2731 votes cast. SP candidate Deep
Prakash Sonkar came third with 761 votes and independent candidate Santosh
Kumar Gupta came second with 866 votes. This by-election in Alopibagh ward was
held after the death of senior BJP leader and councillor from this ward, Umesh
Chandra Mishra. The victorious BJP candidate Sachin Mishra is his son.
BJP
workers celebrated the victory by distributing sweets. For the BJP, which is
preparing for 2027, this by-election served as a litmus test, and the victory
has thrilled the workers. The organization took this by-election seriously.
Even Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was visiting Prayagraj to
participate in various programs on May 5th, the day of the election, urged
everyone to focus on the Alopibagh by-election without wasting time during an
afternoon interaction with workers at the Circuit House. The BJP Metropolitan President
also deployed a full team of workers and remained actively involved in the
election campaign. Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, MLA Siddharth Nath Singh,
Harshvardhan Bajpai, Anand Sonkar, Anuj Kushwaha, Kunj Bihari Mishra, Anil
Kesarwani, Anand Srivastava, Dr. Shailesh Pandey, Vikramjeet Bhadauria, Ramesh
Pasi, Pramod Modi, Arun Patel, Vijay Srivastava, Pramod Singh, Raju Pathak,
Ajay Singh, District Media Incharge Pawan Srivastava, Vivek Mishra, Sachin
Jaiswal, Shyam Prakash Pandey, Deep Dwivedi, and Kritagya Narayan Mishra, among
other officials, congratulated the workers.
