
Nagpur, 07 May (HS): Vidarbha Cricket
Association has undertaken an ambitious talent hunt initiative ‘Bowler Ki Khoj’
in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Promising bowling talents will be
groomed to participate in the coming Vidarbha Premiere League.Season-2.
Former Indian bowler
and Chairman of the VPL Governing Council, Prashant Vaidya; former BCCI
Selection Committee Chairman Chetan Sharma, selector Subroto Banerjee with the
members of the Vidarbha Cricket Association’s senior, junior and women’s
selection committees will oversee the trials and identify the talented bowlers.
The trials will be held from May 9 to 17.
The trials will be
open for bowlers for male between 16 and 25 years of age and females from 15 to
23 years of age. The trials in Gadchiroli will be held from 8 am and in
Chandrapur from 4 pm on May 9.
On May 10 the trials
at Amravati and Akola will be held from 8 am, and in Washim from 4 pm. Trials
in Gondi and Bhandara will be held from 8 am and 4 pm respectively on May 16;
and at Wardha from 8 am and at Yavatmal from 4 pm.
In the final round on
May 17, shortlisted candidates from all the districts will be invited at Ramtek
and VCA’s Civil Lines stadium from 8 am. The selected bowlers will be imparted
advanced training.
Selected bowlers will
get opportunity to be a part of VPL Season 2, which is beginning on June 1.
The participants have
been advised to remain present at the designated venue in white cricketing
attire along with valid proof of their age.
