Saharanpur,
07 May (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Deoband, Saharanpur, on
Thursday. He presented the district with 325 development projects worth Rs. 2,131
crore. Addressing the people of Saharanpur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said
that by winning the election in Bengal for the first time, the BJP has proven
all political analysts wrong. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and
best wishes to the workers of Bengal as well as those of Saharanpur, he
said.
Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this victory proves that when public
representatives live among the people, they shower their blessings abundantly.
The public does not waste time in burying a party that harms the nation. This
is a good sign. This election result is a mirror for those who seek to tear
apart the social fabric by dividing people on the basis of caste. Yogi said
that this victory proves that the public will no longer be divided. Saharanpur
is the same district that used to be the scene of riots. It took four hours to
travel to Delhi and 12 to 14 hours to reach Lucknow. There was no good
connectivity here, nor any major centers for education or sports. Young people
were forced to migrate. Entrepreneurs and businessmen were in panic. Saharanpur
was struggling to establish its identity.
The
Chief Minister said that Deoband used to be infamous. Fatwas issued from
Deoband would cause unrest in the country. In 2013-14, entire western Uttar
Pradesh was ablaze with riots. People were forced to flee from Kairana and
Kandhla. People wondered what would happen next. In 2016, anti-Sikh riots broke
out in Saharanpur itself. A curfew was imposed for months. Transportation was
halted. There was devastation everywhere. No one listened. But after the
formation of the double-engine government in the state in 2017, work was done
that previous governments could not do. The people of Uttar Pradesh trusted
Modi. Today, I can say that Saharanpur has gained a new identity due to world-class
wood art.
Chief
Minister Yogi said, What's not available in Saharanpur today? Just on
April 14th, the Prime Minister visited Saharanpur. He inaugurated the six-lane
expressway. A roadshow was held in Saharanpur. The journey to Delhi, which
previously took six hours, now takes two hours. Yogi said that
Saharanpur, which was earlier ruined by people issuing fatwas, is now
progressing. Elements hindering development will divide people on the basis of
caste, but there is no division. These people who practice appeasement
politics, believe in the culture of fatwas, give shelter to goons, and
compromise the safety of sisters and daughters, all use caste as a cover to
hide their evil deeds. When India's traditional Sanatan culture is attacked,
they use Fevicol to cover their mouths. It seems as if nothing has happened.
The
Chief Minister said that they fabricate stories to discredit India's eternal
traditions. They foster identity crises by patronizing professional criminals
and the mafia. But now, Uttar Pradesh is no longer a sick state, but the growth
engine of India.
Remember,
nine years ago, you used to hide your identity when you traveled outside Uttar
Pradesh. Today, there's no need to hide your identity. Nine years ago, people
who used to frown at the mention of Uttar Pradesh and Saharanpur, see you today
with a glow of respect on their foreheads. Just this morning, I gave
appointment letters to approximately 500 young people from three departments.
Among them were young people from Saharanpur. Today, people from every
background are eligible for appointment. Earlier, there was discrimination
based on region and caste, money transactions, and recommendations. We said
that all this would no longer be tolerated. For us, the entire Uttar Pradesh,
with its 25 crore people, is like family. Today, Uttar Pradesh is free from
mafia and riots. Now, no one can ban Janmashtami and the Kanwar Yatra.
In
his address, Chief Minister Yogi said that in the past, fatwas were issued on
every small and big issue. He said, Fatwas were issued even on how to eat
food. We have not created a culture of fatwas here, but rather an ATS center.
Now our commandos keep watch here. If any traitor raises his head, he will face
certain consequences. The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has now
become a mafia- and riot-free state. Now no one can dare to ban Janmashtami or
the Kanwar Yatra.
Earlier
in a post on X, he stated, “In the district of Saharanpur, at the event
organized for the inauguration and foundation stone laying of public welfare
projects costing Rs. 2,131 crore, as well as the distribution of certificates
to beneficiaries of schemes from various departments.”
