Tezpur, 07 May (HS): Border Roads Organisation’s Project VARTAK celebrated its 66th Raising Day with pride and enthusiasm at Tezpur in Assam on Thursday, marking over six decades of service in strategic infrastructure development and connectivity in the Northeast.

Originally raised as Project Tusker in 1960 and later renamed Project VARTAK in 1963, the project has played a key role in constructing and maintaining vital roads in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, including border areas. At present, the project is responsible for maintaining over 2,000 km of strategic roads and continues to provide year-round connectivity in difficult terrains and high-altitude regions.

On the occasion, Project VARTAK reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening border infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and serving the nation with dedication and professionalism.-----------
