New Delhi, 07 May (H.S.): On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor launched by Indian armed forces following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Congress General Secretary (Communications) Jairam Ramesh saluted the nation's military while demanding a comprehensive review of the operation from the government.

Jairam Ramesh stated that just as the Vajpayee government constituted the K. Subrahmanyam-led Kargil Review Committee post-Kargil War to provide recommendations for the future, a similar review of Operation Sindoor is essential.

X Post Highlights

In his X post,Jairam Ramesh emphasized remembering the armed forces' achievements and the events that shaped this campaign. He noted that on May 30, 2025, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan acknowledged in Singapore that initial tactical errors caused losses, though subsequent corrections enabled precise strikes deep inside Pakistan. Similarly, on June 10, 2025, the Indian Embassy's Defence Attaché in Jakarta revealed that political leadership-imposed restrictions led to aircraft losses.

The Congress General Secretary pointed out that despite India's extensive diplomatic efforts, Pakistan could not be isolated as effectively as after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Instead, from June 2025, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir received exceptionally warm reception from US President Trump, with the American military establishment also praising Pakistan. Ramesh stressed that recalling these events is crucial for the government to conduct a thorough review and provide clear direction to the nation.
