New Delhi, 07 May (H.S.):
Northern Railway has taken a significant step towards further fortifying its operational management through technological innovations and advanced safety measures. In this direction, during a train operations conference held at Baroda House, Northern Railway General Manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey launched the RailSafe YouTube channel aimed at enhancing safety, awareness, and operational efficiency.
General Manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey stated that safety is Northern Railway's topmost priority. He explained that the RailSafe YouTube channel will provide frontline employees with practical and vital information related to safe train operations, thereby making railway operations even more secure and effective.
The conference was attended by Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM) Monika Agnihotri, along with senior divisional operations managers from Delhi, Ambala, Firozpur, Lucknow, Moradabad, and Jammu divisions. The objective of the conference was to review operational management, discuss ground-level challenges, and formulate a collective strategy to improve safety and punctuality.
Various technology-based initiatives and innovations adopted by different divisions were also presented during the conference. Jammu Division has developed a mobile-based tool named AARAV (Automated Assessment, Reporting, Alert, and Real-Time Analysis Verification System), which enables real-time field reporting. Through this system, officers can immediately record deficiencies and forward them to relevant departments for action.
Delhi Division has implemented a six-pronged safety campaign to bolster security. This includes daily safety inspections through 'Nav Suraksha', weekly consultation sessions via 'Suraksha Chaupal', a live KPI monitoring app, mentor-mentee program, and digital safety messages displayed in key panel rooms. Additionally, direct communication with frontline staff has been established through 61 'Shunting Melas'.
Firozpur Division has achieved remarkable success in promoting Basmati rice exports through the Hub and Spoke Model. Under this initiative, competitive freight rates have been ensured from various regions of Punjab to Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad. On May 4, the fifth loading under this effort dispatched 1,350 metric tons of Basmati rice from Phillaur to Hyderabad and Chennai.
The conference concluded with a shared resolve for passenger safety, improved operations, and maximum utilization of modern technologies. Northern Railway has once again reaffirmed its continuous commitment to providing safe, modern, and reliable rail services.
