Guwahati, 07 May (HS): AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal launched a sharp attack on the Congress following the Assam Assembly election results, alleging that the party has lost its original identity and transformed into the “Muslim League.”

Reacting to the poll outcome, Ajmal claimed that the Congress would require at least 20 years to revive itself politically in Assam. He further alleged that the party in the state is being led by “Miya Muslims,” and asserted that this message would now reach the entire world.

The AIUDF leader also pointed out that 18 out of the 19 Congress MLAs elected in the Assembly polls belong to the Miya Muslim community. According to him, the party’s electoral strategy and the leadership of Gaurav Gogoi were responsible for the Congress’ poor performance in the elections.

Ajmal said that he had been repeatedly saying that Congress would have to alliance with AIUDF directly or hiddenly. But they have not listened and now the result is so worst that Congress has not succeeded to win also a single seat in upper Assam. Congress has made the airlines with AJP despite AIUDF. He said that now this message will be spread over the world that Congress is representing the Mia Muslim because the Mia Muslims will be represent the Congress in Assam assembly now.

Ajmal made these remarks while reacting to the post-election political scenario in Assam.-----------
