
New Delhi, 07 May (H.S.):
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested CGST Superintendent Sanjay Meena and computer operator Yash Sharma from his office in Meerut in a bribery case. Both are accused of demanding a bribe of ₹6,000 to cancel a show cause notice issued to the complainant.
The CBI registered the case on May 6. According to allegations, the computer operator employed in the Superintendent's office demanded the bribe on behalf of Superintendent Sanjay Meena from the complainant. The CBI laid a trap and caught Yash Sharma red-handed while accepting the bribe.
Investigation revealed that the amount was being demanded for the Superintendent.
Arrests and Ongoing Probe
The CBI stated that both Superintendent Sanjay Meena and computer operator Yash Sharma have been arrested. The investigation continues, with scrutiny of other related aspects underway.
