New Delhi, 06 May (H.S.): Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet in Dwarka Court in the murder case that occurred during Holi in Uttam Nagar. The chargesheet names 18 individuals as accused. The court has issued notices to the complainant and the investigating officer in the case. The next hearing is scheduled for May 11.

Two accused in this case are still absconding, while separate cases against two minor accused will be heard by the Juvenile Justice Board. The nearly 500-page chargesheet includes charges of murder, unlawful assembly, rioting, criminal trespass, and provisions of the SC-ST Act. The case will now be heard in Dwarka Court's SC-ST Court.

On March 4, during Holi celebrations, 26-year-old Tarun Bhutoliya was murdered. According to Delhi Police, a minor girl from Tarun's family threw a water-filled balloon at a woman on March 4, following which the woman's relatives attacked Tarun Bhutoliya with sticks, leaving him injured. He succumbed to his injuries the next day. The accused belong to the Muslim community, which gave the incident a communal color. Police stated that there was no prior enmity between the two families.

Delhi Police has recorded statements of approximately 50 people in this case. Previously, the Delhi Municipal Corporation had demolished the allegedly unauthorized portion of a property belonging to one of the accused.
