
Mohali, 06 May (H.S.): A serious incident on wednesday alleged sacrilege involving Sri Gutka Sahib has come to light in the Sohana area of Mohali, triggering tension in the locality. Damaged pages of Sri Gutka Sahib were found near Mata SundriGurdwara sahib, located close to Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan Sohana. Following the incident, members of the Sikh community staged a protest and blocked Airport Road, demanding immediate action and justice.
The incident came to light when a sewadar at the gurdwara noticed the torn and scattered pages lying on the ground. News of the incident spread quickly, locals and devotees reached at the spot. Angered by the alleged sacrilege, protesters raised slogans against the administration and blocked the road, causing major traffic disruption in the area.
DSP Mohali City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal reached the spot and appealed for calm. He assured the protesters that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness. According to the DSP, a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the law, and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined.
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits at the earliest. Security has been tightened in the area to prevent any further escalation, and authorities have urged residents to maintain peace while the investigation is ongoing.
