(HS): Renowned Marathi poet and lyricist Madhav Ramchandra Pawar died on
Wednesday following health issues related to his kidneys. He was 71 and was
suffering from ailments related to his kidneys for about 13 years. His father R
N Pawar was also a noted poet.
Madhav Pawar
worked as a clerk at Solapur’s Dr Vaishyampayan Memorial Government Medical
College for 35 years. His anthology of poems ‘He Shubhashakunanche Pakshi’ and ‘Garudbharari’
were very popular among the readers. His contribution to Marathi literature was
highly appreciated. He received 21 state-level awards for his literary work. He
had penned the welcome song for the 79th Aii India Marathi Literary
Meet, held on Solapur in 2006.
Madhav Pawar is
survived by his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and a large
number of relatives and friends.
A large number
of litterateurs and literary organisations from across the state paid tributes
to Madhav Pawar.
