Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on May 7. During his visit, he will participate in key programs associated with 'Fruit Horizon'.
This two-day event, to be held in the presence of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, aims to promote fruit production, quality, processing, and exports across the country. The program seeks to bring farmers, scientists, exporters, and other stakeholders onto a single platform to provide new direction to the fruit sector.
In Lucknow, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will engage in direct dialogue with exporters and other stakeholders. He will hold a meeting with progressive exporters, along with discussions with exporters, directors, and other stakeholders. The dialogue will focus on increasing fruit exports, understanding market challenges, and formulating better strategies. This will strengthen the country's fruit trade and provide better opportunities for farmers.
The main program will take place at the ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Rahman Kheda, Lucknow. As per the scheduled program, on May 7 at 10 AM, Union Minister Shivraj Singh will interact with farmers, nursery stakeholders, and processing sector representatives. This will be followed by the main session, which will also be attended by Uttar Pradesh Government ministers Surya Pratap Shahi and Dinesh Pratap Singh. The comprehensive agenda includes topics such as quality, exports, value addition, zero rejection, FPOs, FPCs, and the role of SHGs.
This event will open new avenues in the fruit sector through fresh thinking, new technologies, and market opportunities. Several senior scientists, central government officials, and Uttar Pradesh government senior officers will also be present.
