New Delhi, 06 May (H.S.):

The Chairman of Congress's Media and Publicity Department accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of undermining the democratic process and stealing the people's mandate.

Pawan Khera stated during a press conference at the party headquarters on Wednesday that BJP manipulated electoral institutions on a massive scale in voter lists in Assam and West Bengal. He claimed that during the special revision in West Bengal, names of 91 lakh voters were removed from the list and 27 lakh citizens were not even given hearing rights. On several seats, the number of deleted voters exceeded the victory margin.

Khera alleged that this is not an isolated incident but BJP's planned electoral game, adopted in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Bihar, and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Citing examples, he said that in Karnataka's Aland assembly constituency, 6,018 fake applications led to voter deletions, of which only 24 were genuine. In Haryana, one woman's photo was used 223 times across different booths.

Khera stated that in Maharashtra, 40 lakh new voters were added within five months, compared to just 32 lakh over five years from 2019 to 2024. Voter turnout also mysteriously increased. He accused BJP of now using central agencies, fake cases, and voter list manipulation to eliminate the opposition.
