New Delhi, 06 May (H.S.):
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly condemned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's statement blaming the Central Government for the explosions in Punjab.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh stated on Wednesday that the Bhagwant Mann government has failed to ensure Punjab's security and is deflecting its inexperience onto the Centre. 22 grenade attacks, missile strikes—over the past four years, Punjab's soil has been soaked with the blood of its sons, yet Mr. Mann is evading responsibility and accusing the Central Government. This is utterly shameful, condemnable, and unbecoming.
In his media interaction, he remarked that this is an extremely tragic incident. As a border state, security concerns persist. Punjab, drowning in drugs, has reached a crisis point. Railway tracks are targeted one day, explosions occur near army camps the next—the continuous blasts and attacks in Punjab prove that the Bhagwant Mann government has completely failed. Tarun Chugh emphasized that Punjab's people want peace, security, and development—not stories and jokes. The current situation clearly shows that the Mann government has utterly failed to provide security to Punjabis.
Responding to a question about Mamata Banerjee, Tarun Chugh said that when EVMs make Mamata Banerjee Chief Minister, everything is fine, but when the people defeat her and deliver a verdict, the EVMs are faulty. The people's decision is final. Whoever refuses to accept it represents arrogance, not democracy. The people of West Bengal have given their mandate, but Mamata Banerjee's clinging to power insults the mandate, the Constitution, and democratic norms. This is unfortunate.
