30 May (HS): UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pays public condolences on the
death anniversary of former UP Chief Minister and Union Minister Veer Bahadur
Singh on Saturday. CM Yogi often respects Singh's legacy, honoring his
leadership and services to the state. CM
Yogi Adityanath frequently uses social media and other venues to pay tribute to
Veer Bahadur Singh, emphasizing his Gorakhpur background and standing as a
popular populist figure. CM Yogi has
already praised Singh (who served as CM for Congress from 1985 to 1988) for
making critical administrative choices that permitted the opening of locks at
the Ram Janmabhoomi monument in Ayodhya. Veer Bahadur Singh was influential in
the development of the Purvanchal area and also served as Union Communications
Minister under Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi before his tragic death in 1989.

Yogi remarked in a post on X, “On the death anniversary of Vir Bahadur Singh,
former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and former Union Minister, who gave a
new direction to the development of the state, humble tribute. His leadership
is an excellent example of development-oriented thinking, administrative
efficiency, and dedication to public welfare.”
