Silchar, 29 May (HS): Acting on reliable input regarding the illegal transportation of narcotics, security personnel intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle bearing registration number AS12U7746 during naka checking along the Assam-Mizoram border, police informed on Friday.

During the search of the vehicle, conducted in the presence of independent witnesses and under videography, officials recovered and seized 60,000 suspected YABA tablets along with one mobile phone. Preliminary testing using the DDK kit confirmed positive results for Methamphetamine.

The apprehended individual has been identified as Ngamlen (44), son of Dongthang, a resident of Zaolen Kumbipukhru village under Churachandpur Police Station in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.

Officials stated that the seized narcotics are estimated to have a black market value of approximately ₹18 crore. Further legal action in connection with the case is currently underway.----------
