Guwahati, 29 May (HS): In a devastating road accident on the outskirts of Guwahati, four persons lost their lives after an Arunachal Pradesh Government vehicle collided with a stationary truck at Dimoria along the National Highway on Friday.

According to initial reports, the government vehicle slammed into the rear side of a truck that had been parked beside the highway. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the vehicle completely mangled and killing all four occupants on the spot.

Soon after the incident, local police personnel rushed to the accident site and launched rescue and recovery operations. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the damaged vehicle and later sent for post-mortem examination.

Police have also cleared the wreckage from the highway to restore traffic movement in the area. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Officials suspect that over-speeding or poor visibility may have contributed to the driver failing to notice the stationary truck in time.-----------
