Bhubaneswar, 29 May (H.S.): The three-day National Executive Council Meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) commenced in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by National President Prof. Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, and National Organising Secretary Shri Ashish Chauhan.
Addressing the inaugural session, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said the meeting would deliberate on several important issues, including education, the global scenario, sports, environment, technology, and other contemporary subjects.
Referring to the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) recent decision to fully implement the Three-Language Policy, Dr. Solanki described it as a positive step towards the Indianisation of education and the strengthening of national unity.
“In view of the continuously increasing inter-state migration for employment and higher education across the country, knowledge of Indian languages will prove immensely beneficial for students in shaping their future,” he stated.
He also appreciated the flexible measures proposed by the Board to address practical challenges during the transition phase, including the availability of textbooks and the shortage of teachers.
Dr. Solanki further said that ABVP believes board examinations should also be conducted in accordance with the Three-Language Framework to ensure the policy’s effective implementation.
The National Executive Council Meeting will hold detailed discussions on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the promotion of Indian languages, and various dimensions of the Three-Language Policy.
He expressed confidence that the policy would emerge as a milestone in strengthening Indian languages and preserving the country’s linguistic diversity. According to ABVP, the initiative would also serve as an important instrument for qualitative transformation in education and for reinforcing national integration.
The meeting is also expected to deliberate on future strategies and recommendations regarding the effective implementation of these educational reforms.
