28 May (HS): On Thursday, Eid-ul-Azha prayers were held smoothly across Uttar

Pradesh despite rigorous security precautions, with senior authorities

monitoring the situation and drones deployed in key areas. In Lucknow, Sunni

community members prayed in the Aishbagh Eidgah, led by preacher Maulana Khalid

Rashidi Farangi Mahali, while Shia community members congregated at the Asafi

Mosque in the Bara Imambara complex. Special prayers for peace, prosperity, and

fraternity were offered around the country. Prayers were also held at the Teele

Wali Masjid, where followers prayed for progress and communal harmony. Before

the prayers, religious authorities stated that Eid-ul-Azha represents

sacrifice, humanity, and brotherhood, and urged the people to enjoy the

festival peacefully and support those in need.

Police

and district administration officials were on high alert, with security officers

stationed outside mosques and Eidgahs and drone cameras being utilized for

monitoring in critical places. Following prayers, ritual sacrifice began around

Lucknow, with individuals carrying out ancient practices at home. Families

cooked special delicacies and offered Eid greetings with family and neighbors. Prayers

were performed in Shahi Jama Masjid, the primary Eidgah at Kamalpur Sarai in

Hayatnagar, as well as other mosques in the neighborhood.

Ankit

Khandelwal, District Magistrate, stated that a substantial police force, as

well as sanitary and water preparations, were made in advance. Peaceful prayers

were performed at 828 mosques and Eidgahs around the district. Superintendent

of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar Bishnoi stated that the district is organized into

five zones and sixteen sectors, with magistrates stationed at strategic places.

Bishnoi

stated that strict orders had been given regarding unlawful sacrifice, and that

anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands will face consequences. Prayers

were offered in 154 Eidgahs in Amethi, all of which had strong security. Police

stated that drone cameras were utilized to monitor sensitive sites. Amethi SP

Saravanan T said that the district is split into four zones and 17 sectors for

security control. In Azamgarh, prayers were held in 704 venues, including 328

Eidgahs and 376 mosques. According to District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar II,

the celebration closed peacefully and in accordance with official regulations.

According

to Senior Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, no adverse incidents were

recorded anywhere in the area.

In

Varanasi, prayers were held calmly in mosques in Nadesar, Nai Sadak, Madanpura,

Bajardeeha, and Daalmandi. Police claimed comprehensive security measures had

been established throughout the commissionerate, with constant patrols of

important areas like as Daalmandi, Madanpura, and Lallapura. Drones and CCTV

cameras were utilized for surveillance, and officials urged the people to

disregard rumors and promote social peace.

Eid-ul-Azha

prayers were held peacefully in Eidgahs and mosques around Bareilly, including

the city's major assembly at Bakarganj Eidgah, led by Qazi-e-Hindustan Mufti

Asjad Raza Qadri. Religious authorities asked people to be clean and avoid open

sacrifices while respecting the feelings of other groups. Special prayers were

performed for the country's peace and prosperity, followed by greetings and

traditional feasts at homes around the city.
