Lucknow,
28 May (HS): Vinayak Damodar Savarkar (Veer Savarkar) is considered by Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to be the greatest hero of the twentieth
century and one of the most important sources of patriotism. CM Yogi feels that
if Congress had adopted Veer Savarkar's ideals, the country may have averted
split. Yogi Adityanath has stated on various occasions that Savarkar did not
receive the respect and position he deserved following independence.
In
a post on X, he remarked, “On the birth anniversary of the immortal son of
Mother India, the great freedom fighter ‘Swatantrayaveer’ Vinayak Damodar
Savarkar, who endured the most brutal inhuman tortures for the sake of the
nation's independence and dedicated his life at the feet of the motherland, we
offer our humble salutations. His revolutionary consciousness and life of
struggle will forever continue to impart to us the invaluable message of
dedication, courage, and unwavering resolve in the interest of the nation.”
