Gadchiroli, 28 May (HS): Gadchiroli Police and

Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur Police in a joint operation an arms manufacturing unit

of Maoist on the border of the two states.

Based on intelligence information, arms and material

for arms manufacturing were concealed in forest, about 7 km from Kakur, the

operation was started on May 26. A special unit C-60 Pranihita, Narayanpur DRG

and BDDS. On May 27 they found a big stock of arms buried and material for manufacturing

arms. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Gadchiroli Superintendent

of Police S Ramesh.

The seized material include INSAS rifles, single

shot and 12 bore rifles, SLR cartridges and huge quality of explosives, 25 kg

of IED explosives, detonators, wire and BGL Cells. The equipment like Lathe Machine,

Grinder, Inverter solar plates etc were also recovered. The material was

destroyed during the operation.

The joint operation was carried out by a team led by

M Ramesh, Kartik Madhira. Gokul Raj, Harshavardhan B J, Vishal Nagargoje and

Manoj Madavi. The Police Superintendent congratulated the team for successful executive

of the operation.
