28 May (HS): A man was murdered on Thursday when a minor disagreement between
two groups of youngsters developed into a violent battle between adults in a
hamlet in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura region during Eid prayers, according to
officials. The event happened in Nagla Mev village, which is part of the
Kosikalan police station area.
According
to Station House Officer Kamlesh Singh, the children of two men, Ashu and
Nawab, were going home for namaz at a mosque when they got into a dispute with
Idris' children over an issue. After returning home, the youngsters notified
their family members about the alleged attack by the other group, and members
of both sides confronted each other, he added.
According
to the officer, what began as an exchange of claims quickly escalated into a
violent brawl, with individuals on both sides assaulting each other with
sticks. Some neighbors attempted to interfere, but Nawab, who is approximately
35 years old, suffered major head injuries during the altercation, according to
Singh. He was hurried to a local hospital before being transferred to the
district hospital for further treatment, where he died, according to police. According
to authorities, Nawab's body was submitted for a post-mortem examination after
legal requirements were completed. Tensions rose in the aftermath of the event,
and a large police presence was deployed in the village to ensure peace and order,
they claimed.
