
Jammu, 28 May (H.S.): MLA Mata Vaishno Devi Constituency, Baldev Raj Sharma today conducted a public meeting at Municipal Committee Katra, Ward No. 3, in the presence of Tehsildar Katra, XEN PHE Reasi along with AEE Katra, officials of the PDD Department, Police Department, Sardari Lal Dubey, Ashwani Sharma, Ex Vice Chairman Municipal Committee Katra Ajay Baru, Advocate Parvaish Kant, Anil Kumar Samnotra, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Dubey, Diwaker Sharma, Sandeep Mehra, and a large number of prominent locals and residents from different wards of Katra town.
During the meeting, the people highlighted issues related to water supply, electricity infrastructure, traffic congestion from Jij Chowk to Durga Bhawan Road, sanitation, lanes and drains, parking facilities, and overall civic development of the town. The residents appreciated the regular public outreach programmes of the MLA and lauded his proactive approach in personally listening to the concerns of the people at the grassroots level.
Sharma patiently listened to all the grievances and suggestions projected by the public and assured the residents that every genuine issue concerning Katra town would be taken up on priority. He emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among departments to ensure smooth implementation of developmental works and better public services for the people.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble MLA announced developmental works worth Rs 5 crore for Municipal Committee Katra, including Rs 2 crore under the URIF sector for the construction of lanes and drains in various wards of the town and Rs 3 crore for beautification and modernization works in Katra town.
Further reflecting his vision for transforming Katra into a modern, clean, and well-facilitated pilgrim town, Sharma stated that the beautification works will help improve public facilities, strengthen urban infrastructure, and enhance the overall appearance of the holy town for residents as well as visiting pilgrims.
