Thiruvananthapuram, 28 May (H.S.):The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has begun a detailed examination of documents and digital evidence seized during recent raids linked to the CMRL–Exalogic monthly payment case. Investigators believe that crucial evidence could emerge from the forensic analysis of the mobile phone belonging to T. Veena, daughter of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

According to ED sources, digital devices including Veena’s mobile phone will soon be produced before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court. The agency is planning to conduct scientific and forensic examinations of the seized material at the earliest in an effort to speed up the investigation.

Officials are hopeful that deleted files, messages, and documents can be retrieved using advanced forensic technology. The ED is also examining financial records connected to the case and has reportedly frozen three bank accounts linked to Veena. All documents and digital evidence recovered during the raids are expected to be submitted before the PMLA court as part of the ongoing probe.

Sources indicated that once the preliminary forensic analysis is completed, Veena is likely to be summoned to the ED office for questioning. Before that, officials of Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) are expected to receive summonses for recording their statements.

Meanwhile, the police investigation into the attack on ED officials during the raid at Pinarayi Vijayan’s residence has intensified. Two more persons were arrested on Thursday in connection with the violence allegedly carried out by CPI(M) workers.

The arrested individuals were identified as Kiran, a native of Naruvamoodu, and Anil from Vattiyoorkavu. Police also confirmed that another suspect was taken into custody from a different district. All those arrested are expected to be produced before a local court later in the day.

Police sources said more arrests are likely as the investigation progresses. The attack on ED officials and vehicles during the raid had triggered widespread political controversy across Kerala, with opposition parties accusing the state government of failing to ensure the safety of central agency officers.
