New Delhi, May 28 (H.S.): Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh has asserted that the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Delhi is being carried out with complete transparency and in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India. He stated that every Ayushman Arogya Mandir has been developed as per approved financial norms and prescribed procedures. He added that misinterpreting financial figures while ignoring the facts regarding sanctioned budgets and actual fund releases could create unnecessary confusion regarding the healthcare initiative.

Clarifying reports related to expenditure incurred on Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, the Health Minister said that the development and operation of these centres have been undertaken strictly in line with the financial norms, technical guidelines, and approved funding framework laid down by the government. Under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir model prescribed by the Government of India, a fixed financial structure has been defined for strengthening healthcare infrastructure and upgrading services. An amount of ₹25 lakh has been allocated for infrastructure enhancement at each centre, while ₹1 lakh has been earmarked for furniture, fixtures, and essential functional facilities. All work has been executed within these approved financial provisions to strengthen service quality, patient experience, diagnostic capabilities, and primary healthcare infrastructure.

The Health Minister further informed that during the financial year 2025–26, a total of 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been made operational in Delhi under centrally sponsored schemes with the objective of providing accessible and preventive healthcare services to citizens. The centres include 244 facilities under the PM-ABHIM (Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission) and 126 centres under the NHM (National Health Mission).

He also clarified that the funds released for these projects are fully in accordance with approved scheme provisions and utilisation norms. According to the minister, ₹58.30 crore has been released under PM-ABHIM, ₹8.50 crore under NHM, taking the total release to ₹66.80 crore. He stated that claims suggesting expenditure far exceeding this amount on the currently operational centres are misleading.
