New Delhi, May 26 (H.S.): Under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) has launched a dedicated online Investor Assistance Portal to support global and domestic investors, as well as leading players from the industry.
According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the government has been consistently working towards developing a strong, reliable, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in the country. As part of this initiative, ISM has introduced a dedicated online Investor Assistance Portal to assist global and domestic investors and major industry stakeholders. The portal is now live on the website: ISM.gov.in/investment.
This digital platform has primarily been designed to enhance investor confidence and simplify investment procedures in India. Investors interested in investing in India will now be able to access all information related to government schemes, policies, approved projects, and regulatory requirements through a single portal.
Investors will also be able to register their grievances and concerns on the portal. In addition, a secure, role-based, and single-window digital interface has been developed to ensure better coordination among all relevant stakeholders and facilitate the timely resolution of issues.
During the launch event, ISM Chief Executive Officer Amitesh Kumar Sinha laid special emphasis on extending every possible support and facility to foreign investors. He stated that all departments must play an active role in addressing investors’ concerns in order to strengthen the semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem in the country.
Through this portal, officials of the India Semiconductor Mission will work in coordination with nodal officers from various ministries, state governments, approved project companies, and national as well as international trade bodies. During the event, all nodal officers were given detailed information regarding the portal’s framework, functionalities, onboarding process, and their respective responsibilities.
It is noteworthy that under the Semicon India Programme, approvals have so far been granted to 12 fabrication and packaging projects, along with 24 semiconductor design projects.
