
Nashik, 23 May (HS): The Special Investigating Team (SIT) constituted to
enquire about alleged sexual exploitation and religious conversion case in TCS,
Nashik Unit, has submitted 1,584-page chargesheet to the Nashik District and
Sessions Court. SIT has completed the procedure four days before completion of
60 days from the date of registering the offence. Statements of 17 key witnesses
have been recorded by the SIT.
Devlali Camp Police registered an offence based on complaint of an
unmarried woman victim against Danish Sheikh, Tasif Attar and Nida Khan. The
complaint was related to rape, and hurting religious sentiments. Danish and
Tausif were arrested on March 28. Nida Khan eluded arrest, but was arrested on
May 7 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Hearing on Nida Khan’s bail application is
scheduled for May 25 and application of Danish and Tausif on May 30. The
chargesheet relating to eight other offences will be submitted in the next week.
If the offences relating to planned attempt for religious conversion is
proved, additional sections under the Atrocities Act will be added.
