New Delhi, May 23 (H.S.): Xu Feihong on Saturday said that China will continue its zero-tariff policy for African countries, reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to strengthening long-term economic cooperation and shared development with the African continent.

In a post shared on social media platform X, the spokesperson for the Embassy of China in India stated that China is the first major economy to grant tariff-free access to all African countries with which it maintains diplomatic relations.

He said that the zero-tariff policy forms an integral part of the broader framework of China-Africa cooperation. According to him, China-Africa relations are based on the principles of sincerity, practical outcomes, friendship, goodwill, people-to-people connectivity, and shared development.

Xu Feihong further stated that China will continue signing economic partnership agreements with African nations in order to promote common development. He added that Beijing is also working to establish institutional safeguards aimed at ensuring long-term, stable, and predictable economic cooperation between China and African countries.
