
Rome/New Delhi, 20 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome and discussed various aspects of strengthening India–Italy relations.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Prime Minister Modi and President Mattarella reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between India and Italy. The discussions covered multiple sectors, including trade, technology, innovation, clean energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and culture. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
In his own post on X, Prime Minister Modi said that he had a meaningful conversation with President Mattarella on various aspects of India–Italy friendship, including trade, investment, and cultural ties. He added that both leaders also discussed potential cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), critical minerals, space, and nuclear energy.
